If you’re planning to RV the Baja California Peninsula, here are 6 of the best RV parks for RV camping in Baja Mexico.

How to find Baja RV Parks to camp at

There are several ways to find Baja RV parks to camp at. The easiest way is by typing “RV campground” into Google maps. This often pulls up results for places that may not have a website, something businesses in Mexico are notorious for.

Starlink satellite internet offers the most reliable connection for internet, but is expensive.

Another option to find Baja RV parks to camp at is looking on Campendium or iOverlander. Both are free resources for finding camping across North America. iOverlander is typically the better resource for Baja camping out of the two, but we used both in planning our trips.

What are Baja RV Parks like?

RV camping in Mexico is very different than what you might be used to in the United States or Canada. We created an entire blog post about what to expect camping in Mexico that you can read here. As you’ll see below, some of the parks offer similar amenities and infrastructure you might hope or expect while others are more like a safe dry-camping spot in a designated RV park.

6 of the Best Baja RV Parks

Below are six of the best Baja RV Parks to camp at along your road trip. If you are camping in peak season (January to April), make sure to call ahead and make a reservation. Certain Baja RV Parks will book up in advance.

El Valle RV Park: Valle de Guadalupe, BC

The best way to start or end your Baja RV camping journey is in Valle de Guadalupe. Mexico’s most well-known wine region, Valle de Guadalupe (VDG) is just a few hour’s drive south of the California border. And when it comes to RV camping in VDG, there’s no better spot than El Valle RV Park.

The park features full hookups with beautiful views of the surrounding wine valley. They even have cute wine barrel pods for rent for non-motorhome guests as well as a giant wine bottle. The owners lived in San Diego before they sold everything and went on their own RV adventure. Eventually, they decided to open up their own Baja RV Park.

They are the sweetest people you will meet. And they have the best recommendations for where to book a wine tasting in the area.

🚨If you are in a big rig, over 30 feet you can stay at Guadalupe RV Park. They have full services in large pull-through sites on the other side of town. It’s a bit farther to get to the main part of town, but it’s a nice space for those who can’t fit in El Valle RV Park.

Huerte Don Chano RV Park: Mulege, BCS

If camping in a lush oasis in the desert sounds appealing to you, then look no further than Huerte Don Chano RV Park in Mulege. Green grassy sites surrounded by palms and tropical plants make it the perfect reprieve from the surrounding desert.

Romanita RV Park: Loreto, BCS

Loreto is one of Baja California’s Pueblo Magicos and it is definitely worth the stop to explore. Romanita RV Park is perfectly situated in the middle of town. Its location near many fabulous restaurants, shops and two blocks from the boardwalk also known as the malecon, is hard to beat. Full hookups (15-amp electricity) and shady palms will keep you cool from the harsh sun.

This Baja RV park features bathrooms and showers (rustic but hot) if your RV or van isn’t fully self-contained. The owner also operates as a guide. He will take you on a boat tour of the Bahia de Loreto National Park Islands.

We highly recommend staying here and planning a full-day excursion to experience the most beautiful beaches of Loreto.

🚨If you are in a big rig, over 30 feet you can stay at Loreto Shores RV Park and Marina. They have full services in large pull-through sites on the other side of town. It’s a bit farther to get to the main part of Loreto, but it’s a nice space for those who can’t fit in Romanita RV Park.

Baja Sunrise RV Park: Los Barriles, BCS

If your idea of a Baja road trip includes enjoying a relaxing beach, watching the waves and enjoying epic sunsets then Baja Sunrise RV Park is the park for you. Baja Sunrise is popular with North American snowbirds located along the eastern cape of Baja Sur in the bustling pueblo of Los Barriles.

Like many other Baja RV Parks, Baja Sunrise RV Park features sites that back right up to the most pristine beach with crystal clear water. With privacy fencing between sites, there is plenty of room to spread out. Baja Sunrise offers full hookups with great electrical current. It’s even enough to run the A/C unit all day long.

Casa Caravan RV Hotel: El Pescadero, BCS

Casa Caravan RV Hotel was built by travelers for travelers. Perched on top of a hill, it is a mile walk down to the popular surfing beach of Los Cerritos. The RV Park is intimate, hosting only 12 sites with many large enough to fit a big rig.

Maranatha: La Paz, BCS

Maranatha RV Park in La Paz was by far the nicest of the Baja RV parks we stayed at during our trip. It has amenities on par (if not better) than most RV parks in the United States or Canada. Including laundry facilities (extra cost), 30-amp and 50-amp grounded electricity, water, dump, a pool, pickleball court, volleyball court, kitchen, outdoor lounge areas, and shuffleboard court.

It’s located on the outskirts of town making it a slightly inconvenient spot to stay if you want to explore the city of La Paz and don’t have your own transportation. However, there are great restaurants within walking distance. And it’s easy to catch a collectivo into town from the main highway.

These are hardly the only amazing Baja RV Parks to camp at, but they are a few of the top choices. We encourage you to also explore some of the free camping options you can find on iOverlander. One of the biggest perks of taking a Baja road trip in a van, trailer, or RV is the opportunity to free camp in epic landscapes.
